Smallest .45 ACP handguns, by published overall length

Ranked on overall length, the same basis as the 9 mm list and for the same reason: it is the one size dimension every manufacturer here publishes comparably. This is the widest span of frame types the directory holds in a single chambering — a subcompact, a full-size, a long-slide competition model and a 1911-pattern pistol all sit in the same ranking, so read the frame class beside each row rather than the position alone.

How this ranking is built: Height is excluded because makers measure it differently, as on the 9 mm lists. Weight is excluded from this ranking, but note it divides more cleanly here than in 9 mm: every .45 ACP record in the directory publishes either a without-magazine or a with-empty-magazine figure, and none publishes the unqualified single weight that forces the 9 mm list into a third group. Only source-verified records appear, every figure is the manufacturer's published one shown in both unit systems, and values marked were converted by this directory from the system the source published.
