NO WEIGHT IS RECORDED, AND THIS IS THE ROW THAT PROVES THE TABLE RATHER THAN ONE CELL IS AT FAULT. Subtracting HK's "Without magazine" column from its "With empty magazine" column gives the magazine's weight: −43 g for the 9 mm Compact, −3 g for the .40, and +2 g here. Only this row avoids a negative magazine, and 2 g is refuted by HK's own full-size USP page, which states that a .45 USP magazine weighs 98.9 g. So all three rows are internally contradictory and no reading of the table survives. The archived manual has no weight column to arbitrate with. Both weight fields stay empty here as on the other two Compacts; see hk-usp40-compact for why the apparently salvageable "Without magazine" column was deliberately not rescued. THE SMALLEST STANDARD CAPACITY IN THE DIRECTORY, AND HK'S SOURCES AGREE ON IT. The specification row reads "8/10 Rounds", the manual's table gives this model a flat capacity of 8, and every catalogue number HK lists — 81000343, 81000344 and the two V7 LEM configurations — ships 8-round magazines, with no 10-round SKU among them. So 8 is recorded as standard and 10 as the optional figure the spec row publishes. Worth noting the manual and the page disagree in shape rather than in substance here: the manual states only the 8, the page offers 8 or 10, and recording both loses nothing. DIMENSIONS DIFFER FROM THE OTHER TWO COMPACTS ON EVERY AXIS BUT WIDTH, exactly as the full-size .45 does from its siblings: 180 mm long against their 173 mm, 128 mm tall against 127 mm, a 96 mm barrel against 91 mm and a 143 mm sight radius against 135 mm, with the 35 mm width shared. Every pair reconciles exactly — 180 mm/7.09 in, 128 mm/5.04 in, 35 mm/1.38 in, 96 mm/3.78 in, 143 mm/5.63 in — so the defect on this page really is confined to the weight columns. Trigger action follows the SKU: the spec row reads "SA/DA, DAO" without designating either, and 81000343 is the V1 double-action/single-action configuration. Frame class is unset: "Compact" is part of the model name rather than a published size class. Year introduced is unrecorded, as on every USP record.
