What we collect.
Very little. There are no accounts, no comments, no ads and no newsletter. The one thing that runs in your browser to count visits is Google Analytics, and you can turn it off.
Analytics
Guns Unpacked uses Google Analytics to see which pages are read and how readers arrive at them. It is loaded either directly or through Google Tag Manager. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that let it tell a returning browser from a new one. By Google’s default they last up to two years.
It reports things like the page viewed, the page you came from, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not combine it with anything else. Google processes this data under its own terms; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser, use a content blocker, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same either way.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives the technical details every request carries, such as your IP address, browser and the page requested, in order to deliver the page and protect the service. We do not use those logs to identify readers.
Fonts and other third parties
The typefaces are served from this site’s own domain, so loading a page does not contact Google Fonts. Links to manufacturer pages and archived sources go to other sites, whose own privacy policies apply once you follow them.
Corrections
The corrections form does not send anything to this site. It assembles your correction inside your browser and either opens a draft in your own email app or copies the text for you to paste. Nothing you type in it is stored here.
If you then email us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to check and answer the correction, and we do not add you to any list.
Your own browser
The site stores nothing in your browser itself. Filters, searches and comparisons live in the page or in its address, and they are gone when you leave.

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves. Questions go to corrections@gunsunpacked.com.
