NO WEIGHT IS RECORDED, AND THE CASE IS NOW STRONGER THAN WHEN THE 9 MM COMPACT WAS WRITTEN. HK's Compact weight table has "Without magazine" and "With empty magazine" columns, and subtracting one from the other gives the magazine's weight — which comes out at −3 g for this pistol, −43 g for the 9 mm and +2 g for the .45. Two negatives and one implausible remainder: a magazine cannot weigh less than nothing, and HK's own full-size USP page states that a .45 magazine weighs 98.9 g. So every row of this table is internally contradictory, not just the one that first raised the question. The archived manual cannot arbitrate — its specification table carries Model, Caliber, Capacity, Sights, Width and Height only, with no weight column at all. Both weight fields therefore stay empty on all three Compact records, uniformly, and the reason is recorded rather than left to be rediscovered. WHAT WAS DELIBERATELY NOT DONE: the "Without magazine" column looks salvageable — 780 g here and 800 g for the .45 are both lighter than their full-size counterparts (820 g and 887 g) by plausible margins, which tempts the conclusion that only the second column is broken. That reasoning was rejected because it is plausibility arithmetic rather than transcription, and because it collapses on the 9 mm row, whose 770 g is byte-identical to the FULL-SIZE USP9's figure. Picking a column on the strength of how sensible its numbers look is the kind of repair this directory does not perform; a source that contradicts itself and cannot be arbitrated produces a gap. What would resolve it: any HK document publishing a single weight for this configuration. EVERY DIMENSION PAIR RECONCILES EXACTLY, which is worth stating given the state of the weight table: 173 mm/6.81 in, 127 mm/5.00 in, 35 mm/1.38 in, 91 mm/3.58 in and a 135 mm/5.31 in sight radius all check out, and this caliber's row has no blank metric cell of the kind the 9 mm row carries. The defect is confined to the weight columns. Note the dimensions are identical to the 9 mm Compact's on every axis — a shared frame and slide, the same finding recorded on the full-size USP40, and not a transcription error. Trigger action and capacity follow the SKU: the spec row reads "SA/DA, DAO" and "10/12 Rounds" without designating either, and 81000336 is the V1 double-action/single-action configuration with two 12-round magazines. The V7 LEM and night-sight configurations are separate listings. Trigger pull is HK's 20 N (SA) and 51 N (DA), newtons published and pounds converted. Chambering needs no published-wording field: HK's spec row prints ".40 S&W", already the directory's spelling, though its SKU description writes ".40cal" — the specification row governs. Frame class is unset: "Compact" here is part of the model name rather than a published size class, the Colt "Government" call. Year introduced is unrecorded, as on every USP record. Also published and unrecorded for want of a schema field: a polygonal bore profile, a fibre-reinforced polymer frame, a patented recoil reduction system, and the $1,149 MSRP.
