Canik METE SFT

The page's other five SKUs are separate listings under the base-model rule: HG6595-N (Black) and HG5636BB-N (Burnt Bronze) with 18-round magazines, HG6826-N and HG6652-N with 10-round magazines for restricted states, and HG7164-N with Canik's MO1 optic; so are the METE SFT Pro, METE SFT One, METE SFx and METE SF. THE MEASUREMENTS COME FROM THE OWNER'S MANUAL, AND THE REASON IS PRECISION RATHER THAN DISAGREEMENT. The product page (canik.com, which titles itself Canik USA; canikusa.com redirects there) and the METE SFT owner's manual it links agree exactly on every dimension the page prints: 7.56 in overall length, 5.78 in height, 1.41 in width and 4.46 in barrel. The manual publishes each in both unit systems (192 mm, 147 mm, 36 mm, 113.5 mm), states its weight basis, and adds the operating system, so it is the record's default source — the Taurus rule of preferring the same-tier source that publishes the most fields — and nothing on this record is converted. Taking the page instead would have been actively worse, not merely less complete: Canik truncates its imperial figures rather than rounding them (113.5 mm is 4.468 in, printed 4.46; 147 mm is 5.787 in, printed 5.78; 36 mm is 1.417 in, printed 1.41), so converting the page's inches would have produced 113.3 mm, 146.8 mm and 35.8 mm and put this directory's arithmetic in contradiction with millimetre figures the manufacturer actually publishes. The truncation is noted rather than treated as a conflict, because each pair reconciles once it is recognised. Contrast the TP9 SFx record, whose page and manual genuinely disagree on three dimensions and where the current product page therefore governs: same test, different answers. THE PAGE FINDING NEARLY WENT THE OTHER WAY. The page's specification table is streamed into a hidden element after the footer, and a first read bounded at the footer reported the page as publishing no specifications at all — the "manufacturer publishes nothing" conclusion this directive warns is the least safe a parser can draw. The table is there; it was simply later in the document than expected. WEIGHT IS THE MANUAL'S, WITH ITS STATED BASIS AND A TOLERANCE THAT DISAGREES WITH ITSELF. The two tolerances do not describe the same band: +5/−20 g is asymmetric and spans 25 g, while ±0.14 oz is symmetric and spans about 8 g. Both are kept in the basis rather than one being chosen. The product page separately prints "Weight: 1.74 pounds" (27.84 oz, about 789 g) with no basis. That figure is not recorded, and it is not treated as a contradiction either, because it may well measure something else — but a reader should know that if both were the same measurement, the page's figure would sit 26 g below the manual's, outside the manual's own lower tolerance. Note also that the METE SFT One page publishes dimensions identical to this pistol's and a 1.83 lb weight; it is a different model and nothing was taken from it. CAPACITY: 18 standard, 20 optional. The manual's row reads "18-20 rds."; the SKU is labelled 18rd, the page's key features say "18+1 capacity", and the manual's own weight basis uses the 18-round magazine, which is what designates 18 as standard. The box ships one 18-round and one 20-round magazine. ACTION AXES, ALL THREE SET, FROM TWO DOCUMENTS. Ignition ("Firing Systems: Semi-Auto Striker Fired") and operating system ("Operation System: Short Recoil – Locked Breech") come from the manual, the record's default source. Trigger action is sao from the PRODUCT PAGE's key feature "Short-reset single-action trigger with nickel-coated action components", so it carries `triggerActionSource`; `system` holds that page's Action Type row, "Semi-Automatic Striker Fire", because the one field governs both rows and both come from the page. The page's own finish row reads "Black or FDE" while the page sells Two-Tone, Black and Burnt Bronze and no FDE, so the page disagrees with its own variant list; no finish is recorded. WARRANTY is recorded from the manual (PDF p. 31), which names this model — "Congratulations on purchasing your CANiK / Century Arms METE SFT" — unlike the TP9 SFx manual, whose warranty text names the TTI COMBAT. canik.com's own warranty page is a registration form with no terms, and its terms of service point there, so the manual is the only place Canik states the terms. Note the manual names Century Arms as "the only certified service provider of METE SFT pistols in the USA" while Canik now runs its own US storefront; nothing on canik.com says whether that has changed, and the directory makes no claim either way. Year introduced is unrecorded: no dated announcement was found on canik.com, and the Web Archive was offline (HTTP 503 on every CDX query) on 2026-09-30.
