Glock 19 vs. SIG P320
A compact record against the full-size that names the line. The P320 adds 18 mm of length, 17 mm of barrel, and two rounds of standard capacity — while the G19 Gen6 is, by the makers' own listed widths, the wider pistol.
Eighteen millimeters apart in length. The compact is the wider one.
The P320 Full-Size lists 17 to the G19 Gen6's 15.
The P320 is longer in the cited base-model data.
The exception: Glock lists the compact G19 as the wider pistol.
The base-model specification matrix.
Both makers publish both unit systems. The with-magazine weight row is near-matched, not matched: Glock states an empty magazine, SIG states “w/ Magazine” without saying it is empty.

Which capacity field matters to your research?

This is a compact against a full-size — on purpose.
Glock files the G19 Gen6 as a Compact. The P320 page SIG titles without any qualifier — the record this directory treats as the base model — is the Full-Size, and SIG's own P320 Nitron Compact is a separate listing. So this comparison crosses a class boundary, and it says so rather than pretending the two records sit in the same bracket. Readers comparing like for like should note the boundary; the numbers below are still the two base records' numbers.
The P320 is longer, deeper-barreled, and higher-capacity. Width runs the other way.
SIG lists the P320 at 8 inches overall against Glock's 7.28 — 18 mm — and its 4.7-inch barrel is 17.4 mm longer than the G19's 4.02 inches. SIG also lists two more rounds of standard capacity: 17 against 15, with neither page listing optional capacities.
The exception is width, and it is the most quotable number on this page: Glock lists the compact G19 Gen6 at 34.4 mm (1.35 in) where SIG lists the full-size P320 at 32 mm (1.25 in). By the makers' own figures, the compact is the wider pistol by 2.4 mm. Height, as usual across this directory's cross-brand pairs, is not a clean comparison: Glock's 128 mm includes the magazine, SIG's 140 mm does not state a magazine condition.
The weight gap is 162 grams, under near-matched conditions.
Glock publishes both conditions for the G19 Gen6: 570 g without a magazine and 640 g with an empty one. SIG publishes one figure with its basis stated — 802.3 g “w/ Magazine” — which is closer to disclosure than the P365 page manages, but still stops short of saying the magazine is empty. Under those near-matched conditions the P320 is 162.3 g (5.72 oz) heavier. That ranking is unlikely to reverse — but the delta is approximate by the sources' own wording, and this page keeps the caveat attached.
Each maker publishes something the other does not.
Glock attaches a number to its trigger — 26 N, about 5.85 lb — and a date to this generation, the January 2026 Gen6 launch. SIG publishes neither for the P320: no trigger figure, and no reachable dated launch source, so the year stays unrecorded. In the other direction, SIG's operator's manual classifies the P320's mechanism outright — “a striker fired, mechanically locked, short recoil operated pistol” — where Glock's pages label the G19 only with its Safe Action trademark and classify no action axis. The matrix keeps each maker's own vocabulary rather than translating one into the other.
185 mm overall; 102 mm barrel; 15 rounds; 34.4 mm wide — the wider of the two.
203 mm overall; 119.38 mm barrel; 17 rounds; 32 mm wide.
What the data supports—and what it cannot.
The manufacturer records support a clear size-and-capacity distinction with one genuine surprise in the width column. They do not establish that either pistol is more reliable, more accurate, easier to carry, or a better personal fit — and the class boundary means a reader comparing carry candidates may want SIG's compact listings, which are separate records. Those conclusions require evidence and context beyond the specification sheets.
Base records only: no Gen5, no MOS, no Carry, no XSeries.
This article compares the G19 Gen6 record — Gen6 pistols are optic-ready as standard, so there is no separate MOS variant, and the Gen5 pages remain separate older records — with SIG's P320 Full-Size, SKU 320F-9-BSSP. The 10-round state-restricted SKU, the Nitron Compact, Carry, XFive, XCarry, XTEN, AXG, Spectre, and the M17/M18 military models are separate listings and separate records. Nothing measured here transfers to them.

Common Glock 19 and SIG P320 questions.
01Is the SIG P320 bigger than the Glock 19?
In most listed dimensions, yes — the base P320 record is SIG's Full-Size, 18 mm longer overall with a 17 mm longer barrel. Width is the exception: Glock lists the G19 Gen6 at 34.4 mm against the P320's 32 mm, so the compact is the wider of the two. The height figures are not on a shared magazine basis.
02Is this comparing a compact to a full-size pistol?
Yes, deliberately. These are the two base records: Glock files the G19 Gen6 as a Compact, and the P320 page SIG titles without a qualifier is the Full-Size. SIG's own P320 Nitron Compact is a separate listing and a separate comparison.
03Do the Glock 19 and SIG P320 hold the same number of rounds?
No. SIG lists a 17-round standard magazine for the P320 Full-Size and Glock lists 15 rounds for the G19 Gen6. Neither cited page lists optional capacities for these records.
04Which weighs less, the Glock 19 or SIG P320?
The G19, under the closest published conditions: Glock lists 640 g with an empty magazine, and SIG lists the P320 at 802.3 g "w/ Magazine" — a 162 g gap. The conditions are near-matched rather than matched, because SIG never states its magazine is empty.
05Are the Glock 19 and SIG P320 the same caliber?
Yes. Glock lists 9x19 mm and SIG lists 9mm Luger — two names for the same chambering.
